About The Cake
Written by This Is Us writer Bekah Brunstetter, The Cake follows Della, a North Carolina baker whose world is upended when she is asked to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. As faith, family, and personal beliefs collide, Della faces a decision that challenges her long-held values. Inspired by the real-life Supreme Court case Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, the play offers a thought-provoking exploration of love, acceptance, and the complexities of personal conviction.
